According to the ACT Planning and Land Authority, a plumber must be licensed for plumbing and draining work in the ACT which includes:

• a sanitary plumber/water plumber’s licence or
• an advanced sanitary drainer’s licence

Qualifications must include relevant tertiary qualifications and work experience. The plumber needs to show evidence of the insurance they hold to a client before providing a service. This includes advising the person if they do not have insurance.
